Under the leadership of Dr. Vidar Arnulf, Alivia has put together a multi-faceted team to provide premier health management services for our clients.
Alivia’s medical team is comprised of:
- A Chief Medical Officer and a Medical Director who is responsible for all medical output
- An internal research team – the Medical Intelligence Unit – which includes physicians, Ph.D.s and researchers
- Alivia’s Medical Advisory Board – a 12 member team of renowned international specialists – primarly professors – who work with the Medical Intelligence Unit
- Relationships with International Medical Centers of Excellence around the world
- Relationships with expert consultants in diet and nutrition, fitness and exercise, genetics and other forms of health optimisation

Meet The Team
Dr. Vidar Arnulf, MD
Dr. Arnulf is a visionary and healthcare entrepreneur with more than 30 years’ leadership experience in the health care industry. He is a board certified anaesthesiologist and one of our principal founders. He played a key role in the creation of Alivia’s products and services.
Dr. Arnulf is also the founder of Vertikal Helseassistanse AS, the largest private health insurance provider in Norway with more than 160,000 customers in Norway and 120,000 customers in Sweden.
Additionally, Dr. Arnulf is the founder of Norsk Telemedisin, a company that has developed a unique device combining video conferencing, home monitoring and social communication technology. In 2015, the device was nominated as a “2015 CES Innovation Award Honoree” at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Arnulf served as the medical director for a group of hospitals in Norway, as well as the the managing and medical director of a helicopter Search and Rescue operator in Scandinavia.
Dr. Arnulf received his medical degree from the University of Oslo. He speaks Norwegian and English.
Jonathan G. Furst
Jonathan has been with Alivia from the company’s early days. Together with Dr. Arnulf and Mr. Haaber, they built Alivia into one of the leading international health management companies.
Prior to joining Alivia Jonathan was corporate finance attorney for 9 years with law firms in New York City and London representing international banks and financial institutions.
Jonathan is a member of the New York Bar Association and a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Lund, Sweden and Columbia Law School in New York City. He is a recipient of the Dr. Markus Wallenberg Scholarship for International Industrial Enterprises Studies. He speaks Swedish, English, Hebrew and German.
Dr. Tomas Norlindh, MD
Dr. Norlindh is the former Department Head of the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Clinic at Spital Limmattal hospital in Zurich, Switzerland where he worked for more than 20 years. Dr. Norlindh also served as a member of the National Swiss board responsible for the postgraduate education of Swiss radiologists.
Prior to his position at Spital Limmattal, Dr. Norlindh served as a senior consultant to the Radiology Department at the Hospital of Winterthur, Switzerland. Dr. Norlindh is a member of the Swiss Society of Radiology, the Swedish Society of Radiology and the European Society of Radiology.
Dr. Norlindh received his medical degree from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He speaks Swedish, German, Swiss-German and English.
Richard Kensett
With an impressive track record in business, sales and marketing, Richard initially arrived as Sales and Marketing Director before the scope of his role rapidly grew to managing Alivia’s full commercial interests from London.
Prior to Alivia, Richard worked at Allworld Exhibitions project managing six biannual events across a portfolio of exhibitions in the Oil and Gas industry through Asia and the Middle East. That followed a career-defining role as Managing Director of his family business R&K Kensett. The role was brought about by the sudden passing of his father 2013 who founded the professional sports turfcare company in the early 1970s.
It was because of the sad passing of his father, after private medical treatment for cancer, that Richard felt a special affinity for Alivia and its mission.
Niels B. Haaber
As Alivia’s Group Strategic Director, Niels advises the CEO and the rest of the executive team on all aspects of the company’s strategy, including product development and new market entries.
He has more than 15 years’ experience working with high net worth individuals in the international health insurance sector, focusing on sales and marketing in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Prior to joining Alivia, Niels served in various senior managerial positions at Bupa, an international provider of health insurance, including as CEO for one of its subsidiaries in Hong Kong, as well as a member of its Latin America executive management team in Miami.
Niels received his M.Sc. from the IT University in Copenhagen and a B.Sc. in International Business from Copenhagen Business School. He speaks Danish, English, French, Spanish and Italian.
Dr. Anastasia Malek, MD, Ph.d.
Dr. Malek is the head of scientific research for the Medical Intelligence Unit (MIU). In this capacity she manages a team of MIU analysts who are dedicated to research on behalf of Alivia’s clients who are diagnosed with different types of cancer.
Dr. Malek also serves as the Head of the Tumor Endocrinology Laboratory at the Petrov Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia, where her research focuses on RNA interference, miRNA biology and function, exosomes as a cancer diagnostics tool and mi/siRNA delivery systems.
She has published numerous original articles in peer reviewed international medical journals and scientific book chapters. Dr. Malek has conducted post graduate research at the Institute of Pathology, Charité, University of Medicine in Berlin, Germany and at the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland, Bellinzona, Switzerland.
She is also the co-founder and director of Oncosystem, a company that specializes in cancer diagnostic systems on the basis of exosomal miRNA analysis.
Dr. Malek graduated from the St. Petersburg State Medical University, Russia. She speaks Russian, English, German and Italian.
Michaela Hull
As Alivia’s Senior Personal Health Manager, Michaela plays a key role in execution of the company’s operations and service delivery. She manages a team of Personal Health Managers who are responsible for managing all aspects of our clients’ care, including liaising between Alivia’s clients and our medical team.
Michaela worked for more than 15 years as a practice manager and nurse for several private clinics, primarily within the cosmetic and aesthetic industry, as well as a nurse in the NHS.
Michaela is a registered nurse and received a Bsc (Hons) in Midwifery from The University of West London (f/k/a Thames Valley University). She is a member of the Royal College of Nursing and the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses.
